How to Interpret This Map

This similarity map is built using the modern Davidski G25 dataset and French averages from the Explore Your DNA Project. It provides the most accurate results for individuals with a largely homogeneous ancestry. For those with mixed backgrounds, the map highlights midpoint populations that best reflect the overall genetic composition.

The results represent genetic similarity to pre-colonial reference populations rather than present-day nations. For example, individuals from Latin America may see signals from both Indigenous American and European sources. Similarly, people from North America, Australia, or South Africa may display affinities with multiple regions. Nomadic or diasporic groups, such as Ashkenazi Jews or Roma, may not appear under modern population labels but instead connect to deeper ancestral geographic areas.
