Log in to Your 23andMe Account

Go to www.23andme.com and sign in with your email and password.

Go to Settings

Click on your name or profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to 23andMe Data

In the Settings menu, look for 23andMe Data or Download Data section. You can also go directly to: you.23andme.com/tools/data/

Request Raw Data Download

Click on Download Raw Data. You'll see options for different data types. Select the ancestry/genotype data option.

Verify Your Identity

23andMe will send a verification email or ask you to answer security questions. Complete the verification process to proceed.

Download Your File

Once verified, click the download button. You'll receive a ZIP file containing your raw DNA data in a text format. The file is usually named something like genome_[name]_[version].txt.

About 23andMe Versions

23andMe has used different genotyping chips over the years (v3, v4, v5). All versions are compatible with our calculators, though newer versions may have more SNPs.

If you tested before 2017, you might have a v4 chip. Tests from 2017 onwards typically use v5.
