Download Your AncestryDNA Raw Data
Follow these simple steps to download your DNA data from AncestryDNA
AncestryDNA is one of the most popular DNA testing services. Once you have your results, you can download your raw DNA data and use it with our advanced calculators and tools.
Log in to Your Ancestry Account
Go to www.ancestry.com and sign in with your email and password. Make sure you're using the account that has your DNA results.
Navigate to DNA Settings
Click on the DNA tab in the top navigation menu, then click on Your DNA Results Summary. From there, click on Settings in the right sidebar (gear icon).
Find the Download Option
Scroll down to the Actions section. You'll see a "Download Raw DNA Data" button. Click on it.
Confirm Your Identity
Ancestry will ask you to re-enter your password for security purposes. Enter your password and click Confirm.
Check Your Email
Ancestry will send you an email with a download link. This may take a few minutes. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from Ancestry with the subject "Your DNA data file is ready".
Download the ZIP File
Click the download link in the email. You'll receive a ZIP file containing your raw DNA data.
The file will be named something like AncestryDNA.txt inside the ZIP archive.
Important Notes
The download link is valid for a limited time (usually 7 days). If it expires, you'll need to request a new download from your settings page.
Your raw DNA file is personal and sensitive. Keep it secure and only upload it to trusted services.
