Your child's odds

Based on simulated children: at each trait marker, every child receives one of the two copies of each parent, at random, exactly like in real life. Brothers and sisters can look very different for the same reason.

πŸ‘οΈ Eye colour

πŸ’‡ Hair colour

✨ Freckles, curls and skin

Eye and hair colour depend on dozens of genes; consumer chips read the main ones (HERC2/OCA2, MC1R, SLC45A2, IRF4, TYR...). Treat these odds as a fun estimate: red hair and blue eyes are predicted well, the shades in between less so. Hair often darkens during childhood. This tool says nothing about health.

🧬 And their ancestry?

A child gets half of each parent's DNA, so their Global25 coordinates are, on average, the mean of the parents' coordinates. Paste each parent's G25 line (name,25 numbers) to get the expected line of your child, ready for our G25 calculators.

Where does each side of the family come from?
Your child inherits both family histories. The Advanced Ancestry Report maps each parent's DNA against hundreds of modern and ancient populations, with haplogroups and a plain-language story, in one PDF.
