Global25 (G25) coordinates describe your genome as 25 numbers, one for each principal component of a worldwide genetic map. Once you have them, you can compare yourself with thousands of modern and ancient populations in tools like Vahaduo, run any of our 254 free calculators, plot yourself on a PCA, or feed them to our regional reports. This service builds those coordinates for you from the raw data file you already downloaded from your DNA testing company, for 2.50 euros, in a few minutes.
What you send and what you receive
You upload the raw file exactly as your testing company gave it to you, either the plain text or CSV file or the original .zip or .gz archive. We read 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA (including the newer Family Finder export), LivingDNA, 24Genetics and ADNTRO files, detect the format automatically and reject files that are damaged or that contain too little data, telling you why. You receive one line per person, in the standard format that every G25 tool accepts: a label followed by 25 scaled values (PC1 to PC25). You paste that line into the coordinates box of Vahaduo or any of our calculators, and you keep it for as long as you like.
Simulated coordinates versus official Global25
It is important to know what you are buying. Global25 was created by Davidski, who computes the official coordinates with his own pipeline from a person's genotype file. Our coordinates are simulated: we place your genome in the same 25-dimension space by projecting your admixture profile onto it, which is fast, cheap and works from any commercial chip. They are very good for exploring, for comparing calculators and for regional reports, but they are an approximation and will not match an official Davidski result to the last decimal. If you need reference-grade coordinates, for example to publish or to settle a fine distinction between two neighbouring populations, request the official ones at g25requests.app. We compare every route in where to get G25 coordinates. How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes. The coordinates appear on the page and are emailed to you once processing finishes.
Which file should I upload?
The raw data file from your testing company (a .txt, .csv, .zip or .gz). Not the ethnicity report or the PDF. Our raw DNA guide shows where to download it for each company.
Can I use the coordinates for a family member?
Yes. Enter that person's name when you order and upload their own raw file. Each file produces one line of coordinates.
Are these the same as Davidski's Global25?
They use the same 25-dimension space and the same format, but they are simulated from your admixture profile, not computed by Davidski. For official values, request them at g25requests.app.
I have no DNA test yet. What do I need?
A consumer DNA test from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA or LivingDNA. Once you receive your results, download the raw data file and upload it here.
