- 📜 AI-interpreted narrative of your family's journey
Choose Your Community
Pick the community closest to your background. The model itself always compares your DNA against the full 160+ population reference panel (all African regions plus European, Amerindian and Asian proxies); your choice just tailors the report's framing and narrative.

🔬 How your result is computed
Your result is computed by genetic similarity: we measure the distance between your genetic profile and each reference population, then find the mixture that best reproduces your DNA. Large, distinct signals (your African regional origin, your colonial-era European admixture) are reliable; populations that overlap genetically are harder to separate precisely, especially if you are heavily mixed. We say this plainly because honesty matters more than a flashy number.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the Sankofa report for?
It is built for people of African / Afro-descendant ancestry: African American, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Latino, and continental Africans. If you are mostly of non-African background, the models are calibrated for African-descended profiles and the fit will be poor; our Advanced Ancestry Report works better in that case.
Do I need to have taken a DNA test already?
Yes. Upload your raw DNA file from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA or LivingDNA or paste your G25 coordinates. We auto-detect your Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups from the raw file.
What African regions does the test detect?
We model your DNA against over 160 regional African reference populations covering the whole continent: West Africa (Bight of Benin/Yoruba, Bight of Biafra/Igbo & Esan, Senegambia/Mandinka & Wolof, the Gold Coast/Akan, Upper Guinea/Mende, the Sahel/Fulani & Hausa), Central Africa (Kongo/Angola, Cameroon, Gabon, Mbuti Pygmy), the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia/Amhara & Oromo, Eritrea, Somalia), East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the Great Lakes), Southern Africa (Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho, San/Khoisan, Namibia) and Madagascar.
Does it detect European or Amerindian admixture?
Yes. The report models the European colonial layer (British/Northwestern European for African American USA, Iberian for Afro-Caribbean/Afro-Brazilian/Afro-Latino, French for Haiti) and any Amerindian admixture from intermarriage with Native peoples of the Americas.
How much does it cost and what do I get?
€15. A full PDF report with your African regional ancestry breakdown, European and Amerindian admixture layers, best-fit ancestry models with their fits, closest reference populations, Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups (if raw file provided), and a narrative interpreted by Claude AI in English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
