Who is the Anadolu report for?
It is built for people rooted in Anatolia and its diasporas, across 7 communities: Turkish (Aegean & Marmara, Central Anatolia, Black Sea/Pontic, Eastern Anatolia, Thrace/Rumelia), Kurdish & Zaza, and Laz. If you are mostly of other ancestry, our Advanced Ancestry Report works better.
What is the "Medieval Turkic Arrival" percentage?
The signature number of this report: how much of your Medieval-era DNA traces to the incoming Central Asian Turkic nomads of the Seljuk era, measured against a curated Medieval Turkic reference panel of Kimak and Kipchak-Karakhanid-era samples. For most Anatolians it is a real but minority layer, typically 5-25%, on top of the much older Anatolian foundation, which in no way diminishes Turkish identity: the Turkification of Anatolia was carried by language, faith and culture more than by mass migration.
Why are Kurdish and Zaza one community?
Kurds and Zazas are both Iranic peoples, genetically extremely close and long intermixed. G25 cannot reliably separate them into two distinct profiles, so we model them honestly as one Kurdish & Zaza community. Their era models use dedicated Iranian-related anchors (Iron Age Hasanlu, Medieval Iranian) alongside Medieval Armenian references.
Do I need to have taken a DNA test already?
Yes. Upload your raw DNA file from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA or LivingDNA, or paste your G25 coordinates.
What eras does the report model?
Six independent models: deep prehistoric streams (Anatolian Neolithic and Hunter-Gatherers, CHG, Iranian Neolithic, Natufian, EHG), Bronze Age (Hittite-era Kaman-Kalehöyük, Kura-Araxes, Alalakh, İzmir), Iron Age (Phrygian Gordion, Urartian highlands, Hasanlu), Classical (Ephesus, Halicarnassus, Armenian Highlands, Sassanid Iran), Medieval (Byzantine Anatolia meeting the Turkic nomads, with Armenian, Iranian and Kartvelian medieval anchors), plus your closest modern community.
How much does it cost and what do I get?
€15. A full PDF report with your era-by-era breakdowns and their statistical fits, your Medieval Turkic Arrival percentage, the animated ancestral journey map, closest modern community, Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups (if raw file provided), and a narrative interpreted by Claude AI.
A DNA report for Anatolia
Anadolu is a G25 ancestry report built specifically for the peoples of Anatolia. Upload your raw DNA file from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage or FamilyTreeDNA, pick your community, and we model your genome era by era, from the first farmers to the Ottomans.
Whether you are Turkish from the Aegean coast, the central plateau, the Black Sea, the eastern highlands or Thrace and the Balkans, Kurdish or Zaza from eastern and southeastern Anatolia, or Laz from the far northeastern coast: Anadolu models the specific genetic layers of your region's history, including the question every Anatolian eventually asks: how much Central Asian Turkic ancestry do I actually carry?
The report uses the Global25 (G25) system developed by geneticist Davidski, placing your DNA in a 25-dimension genetic space alongside ancient and modern reference populations, all sourced from Davidski's official Global25 datasheets. The Medieval Turkic reference panel was curated with expert guidance from the Turkish population-genetics community.
