How It Works
By analyzing your DNA and your known parent's DNA, we mathematically estimate what your other parent's genetic ancestry looks like. This is based on the principle that you inherit approximately 50% of your DNA from each parent.

What You'll Need to Provide

Your results are analyzed by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, which provides a personalized narrative explaining what the reconstructed second parent profile reveals about their ancestry, historical origins, and population heritage, giving your untested parent a genetic identity.
Your result is computed by genetic similarity: we measure the mathematical distance between your genetic profile and each reference population, then find the mixture that best reproduces your DNA. Every reference population in our panel uses real, official G25 coordinates (published academic ancient-DNA studies and the official Global25 dataset) — none of our reference data is simulated or synthetic. The reference populations are statistical proxies, not proof of literal descent from any one group. Large, distinct signals (your broad continental ancestry) are reliable, while genetically overlapping populations are harder to separate cleanly, so the fine detail is more of an educated estimate, especially if you are heavily mixed. We tell you this plainly because honesty matters more than a flashy number.
